The organizers launched this competition on April 8, 2011 to seek for  the best planning for Pho Hien University Urban Area, selecting innovative ideas and  most practical of the internationally and domestically prestigious architects and planning experts. Accordingly, this would be the foundation for section of consultants to deploy next stages of the project.

This was an international competition held in limitation, the selection of qualified competitors was conformed to the criteria of the Organization Body. The Organizers received fourteen dossiers from entrants, including twelve from foreign consultants and two from domestic consultants. Due to the objective reasons, some entrants  were not promptly implemented as schedule so they withdrawn from the competition. Until the deadline on June 20,2011, the Organizers received 9 competitive plans of 8 foreign and domestic consultants. Among them a competitor  submitted two plans. According to the technical examining team, all options were completely valid and met the requirements of the competition.

In two days 24 -25 June, 2011, the Examiners Council included 13 member chaired by Architect Nguyen Tan Van, Chairman of Vietnam Architect Council; The elite teacher, PhD. Nguyen Khac Hao, Standing Vice President of People's Committee of Hung Yen as Vice President of the Examining Council heard the presentations of  consultants as competitors and selected the options for  decision of prize winning. With criteria: suitability to competition duties, creative ideas, effective solutions, environmental preservation and sustainable development, and  high feasibility, etc. the Examining Council has fairly and objectively worked to pick out the most outstanding proposals that convey vision for the university urban area and meet  the most requested aesthetic, architectural planning, landscape, and utilities, also help efficiently deploy three resources: land, infrastructure, manpower, and possibly coupling the existing technical infrastructure and new construction area  to create a new urban area in modern style with sync planning and high feasibility.

After two days of hard work, the Examining Council chose the plans and announced the results as follows:

- The Second Prize: one Second Prize for SW 0401 design of SD Architects & Engineers partners (South Korea).

According to the Examining Council, the International competition of architectural planning ideas for Pho Hien University - Hung Yen province (ratio 1/2000) has attracted the interests of oversea  and domestic architects, the submitted projects (came from countries: Korea, Italy, USA, Germany, Australia, China and Vietnam) have shown their innovative ideas; the solutions of combining  architectural planning space had abundant structure and efficiency, meeting expectations of an university urban area with a massive, synchronized planning, and most  modern design of Vietnam.

Commenting on the projects in competition, the excellent teacher PhD. Nguyen Khac Hao, Vice President of Hung Yen People's Committee - Vice Chairman of the Examining Council said: "Pho Hien University Urban Area-Hung Yen was an important project as a university city that would be a appearance in the future of Hung Yen province. With the motto of limiting residents relocation, vestiges conservation, and making connection between the existing urban and the to-be university urban in future, the provincial People's Committee has assigned Viet Han Trading - Advertising - Construction - Real Estate Co., Ltd. to be representative of  investors and to coordinate with the Architecture Magazine of  Vietnam Architects Association to hold the competition. In general, the nine projects had plentiful ideas and solutions, those projects performed by oversea competitors were very good. Beside, we acclaimed the consultants  of Vietnam on their deep research and hard work. I appreciated the projects that proposed ideas of connecting  the university urban area and the old town using the typical language of Pho Hien - Hung Yen; At the same time,  our local authority was very interested in 300ha of corresponding land for urban development that would create finance for project implementation, accordingly, it would enhance eligibility of utility for people with services in urban areas. After the competition, provincial People's Committee would coordinate with the Project Management, Viet Han Company,to  work with the consulting unit to early deploy next phases of the project".

Reportedly, People's Committee of Hung Yen province assigned Viet Han Trading - Advertising - Construction - Real Estate Co., Ltd. to be the representative of investors to organize the  competition to harvest  the idea of ​​planning and  zoning architecture  for Pho Hien University Urban Area  in accordance with Decision No. 02/QD - UBND dated 22/3/2011. Founded in 2006 with five member companies, Viet Han company has focused on investing and  developing large scale projects and attracting the oversea and domestic secondary investors to invest, together operate and develop projects.

Currently, Viet Han company is implementing major projects such as Skypark Complex project located in Long Dien district (Ba Ria Vung Tau province), Castle Plaza Services - Office - Residential Project  (Hanoi), Tam Nong Ecotourism Urban Area Project located in  Phu Tho province, etc.
